Light, stable, no sweaty feet that eventually get cold (Gore-Tex), no matter what the temperature (summer or winter) - if you accidentally step too deep into unexpected water spots or shallow water-bearing ditches, no water has penetrated so far, nothing.
And the Continental hard rubber sole with coarse tread knobs offers good grip on rocks, scree or forest hills.

This is already my second pair, while the first (olive green) is still in almost top condition after over a year of moderate wear - and that's 85% for purely aesthetic reasons and only 15% for actual outdoor reasons (a couple of weeks' holiday in Sweden). Recommended purchase.
