The backpack's packing volume is surprisingly large. A helmet and a rope can be packed onto the closed roll closure. This should be enough for most companies. I was looking for a minimalist backpack, and that's exactly what it is. You have to do a bit of tinkering to attach skis to the side, which Arcteryx could have solved better. Another small drawback is the width of the backpack in the area of the opening. The closed backpack is still a bit too wide for me and cannot be properly compressed.
