The plate should be longer. If you mount a (metal) basket across the direction of travel, the basket will hang half in the air and swing when you drive. If you mount the basket lengthways to the direction of travel, even more of the basket will hang in the air and it will be even more unstable.

I find the Topeak system simple and effective but unfortunately it is not lockable (and you cannot add a lock later). The low price and the ability to attach it to a bike basket are also positive.

Anyway, sometimes there can be differences concerning size and shape of the products.
