O’NEAL SETTING THE BAR SINCE 1970
Since the 1960s, O'NEAL has been a pioneer in the MX sector. Jim O'NEAL, a passionate MX rider since the birth of the sport, sought better equipment for himself and his friends. This desire drove him to found O'NEAL. In the late '80s, O'NEAL expanded into the mountain bike market, offering products in both Europe and the USA.
Product development has always been a central aspect of the O'NEAL philosophy. O'NEAL was inspired by the needs of the riders and focused on innovative production processes and material technologies to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Jim O'Neal says, "Our innovative approach to product development has shaped the industry." A good example is the IPX® technology used in all O'NEAL protectors. Particularly noteworthy is the IPX® ACells technology with its unique damping properties.
In the 1980s, O'NEAL made its first foray into the mountain biking sector with the AZONIC brand and a MTB-specific product line. As the sport evolved, O'NEAL contributed to its growth and popularity through its product development and commitment. Although today's focus is more on Enduro and Trail Riding, O'NEAL remains true to its roots in Downhill and Freeride.
Jim O'Neal emphasizes, "It wasn't about making money. It was really about developing better products that we could race with."
O'NEAL was the first brand to introduce the innovative Fidlock® magnetic closure to the MTB market. The zipper functionality of the "zip-off" knee protectors was awarded an innovation prize.
International Downhill World Cup and Enduro riders currently represent the O'NEAL brand. Alongside them, many young talents also wear our products. O'NEAL understands the needs of the riders who push themselves to the limit every day. We support them in what they do best and strive to advance the development of the MX and MTB sports.
Jim O'Neal: "After over 50 years, O'NEAL still pushes boundaries and continually sets new standards." O'NEAL remains true to its philosophy and continues to strive for higher quality and more innovative equipment, whether for riders with or without a motor on their bike.
