BEAL is a French family-owned company based in Pont-Evêque near Lyon. Approximately 12 million meters of rope are produced annually at two locations: the headquarters in France and the company's own factory in Madagascar. This makes BEAL the undisputed global market leader in the production of kernmantel ropes for climbing, mountaineering, canyoning, caving, industrial climbing, and rescue since 1986. In addition, BEAL also produces all textile components – harnesses, webbing, slings, bags, etc. – in Madagascar.
BEAL sees itself as a complete climbing equipment provider and offers a comprehensive range for beginners to professionals. The products are smart and designed to complement each other. As a rope manufacturer, the products must always be gentle on the rope.
The ropes are characterized by many special features: All BEAL ropes have the lowest impact force on the market. This softens a fall and significantly reduces the strain on the belayer and the equipment on the wall. UNICORE, DRY Cover, and Golden Dry technologies ensure greater safety and durability of the ropes.
Environmental protection is a top priority for BEAL. Since 2007, BEAL has been involved in a reforestation project in Madagascar, in which over 1 million trees have now been planted. All ropes are made of 100% polyamide and are therefore recyclable. But that's not all: In 2024, BEAL introduced the world's first rope made of 100% recycled polyamide. It is made from old car tires and saves 78% of CO2 compared to fossil-based polyamide.
The BEAL brand aims to bring a new, fresh look to the climbing scene. In addition to technically high-quality products, customer benefit and sustainability are paramount, and this is achieved in many fresh colors.
