At first I only used them for the friends. Each friend gets a carabiner, then I save myself the express set. I have now also equipped express sets with them, namely with a 30cm Dyneema sling (Black Diamond). These homemade express sets are excellent. A total of 51 grams with a 30cm length of tape. Ideal for alpine use. The carabiners themselves are a little harder to open, so the wire gate has to be pressed on a little harder. This is a safety advantage. For routes where I have to lug the stuff there and back for more than an hour, I only take these with me - even if it's just a climbing garden.
