It was a long way from the hazelnut and bamboo stick of the 30s to the light and unbreakable carbon tube of today. The traditional Austrian company KOMPERDELL stands for this development.
The company was founded in Vienna in 1922 as a small turnery specializing in the production of walking sticks from hazelnut wood. True to the Komperdell motto “Always better and one step ahead”, the company has always been looking for lighter materials, more stable constructions and more functional ergonomics.
In 2006 Komperdell succeeded in developing the hardest carbon sticks on the market to date. Extremely stiff, robust, resilient and light, it can withstand loads of up to 200 kilograms. Since the company was founded more than 90 years ago, 100% of all Komperdell poles have been produced in Austria.
Today Komperdell is not only known for its ski and touring poles, it also has hiking and trekking poles and poles for trail runners in its range.
