KOHLA - mountain sports equipment
Discover, experience, inspire. The Kohla brand stands for quality and passion for the mountain. The traditional Tyrolean brand is known for its climbing skins, mountaineering backpacks and telescopic poles.
The Kohla company was founded in 1932 by Max Kohla in Innsbruck / Austria. Even back then it was clear that the focus was on mountain sports articles "Made in Tyrol". The headquarters in the middle of the Alps laid the foundation for the first products. Backpacks, sticks and hunting equipment were the first products manufactured by Max Kohla KG in Tyrol.
After a few years of development, the first rucksacks were made of nylon and aluminum was used as a revolution in pole construction. These innovations made the “Kohla” brand the epitome of mountain sports in the 1970s. The first telescopic poles made of aluminum were brought onto the market in the late 1970s. This means that we not only have sufficient experience in pole construction, but have also been producing telescopic poles in Tyrol for over 40 years.
In 2003 the “Kohla” brand, employees and production were taken over by the Span brothers from the Tyrolean Stubai Valley and the newly formed Ibex Sportartikel GmbH was founded. Kohla produces 80% of its products in Tyrol / Austria.
